Rosie's Restaurant & Bakery Reviews
Great food, very fresh and delicious. Although it was very busy and we were in the lane to get in, the staff were so fast that let us in quickly and it didn’t take long to get our food either.
Amazing restaurant, great staff - made me feel like I was walking into Nan’s kitchen for a home cooked meal!
Rosie’s was recommended by a local, it’s very near the Gander International Airport so we decided to try it. This is one of those secret gems that only the locals, frequent visitors or friends of the locals know. It seemed that everyone knew each other and staff were greeting customers by name and it felt like one big happy family reunion. A lot of baked goods, from fresh bread to pastries were available to go. The restaurant is located behind the bakery. The variety of baked goods was also amazing, considering it was a small place, they had so many products, it was easy to buy more than needed. At the restaurant, I had the clubhouse sandwich with soup. The sandwich was excellent, thick cut of moist chicken, newly toasted bread, fresh lettuce tomato and just the right amount of mayo. My friends had the hamburger with noodle soup, and the chowder. I tasted all and I think the clubhouse was the best. They had specials on the board too. The interiors were clean and neat. The tables were cleaned as soon as customers left. The bathroom was just as clean. Service was excellent and friendly.
Amazing little spot. Was great atmosphere and the staff servers were top notch! Thank you from a couple mainlanders Oh, and the food. . . Amazing !
As tourists, this place was wonderful. I had jigs dinner and the husband had seafood chowder and pan fried cod. All of it was great. So far the best pan fried cod we’ve tried. Large portions. You won’t come away hungry!
Rosie’s was recommended by the young lady at the tourist gift shop! Great call, we are elderly and don’t eat much , we shared the seafood platter. The salmon and cod were delicious and so were the scallops and shrimp! Staff are friendly and attentive, yes go here’s! Thanks from Edmonton, Alberta!!!
We landed at Gander airport and the rental car agent said to go here for lunch. When a local tells me to go somewhere, I listen. Hehe. It was a Thursday and I had the Jigger’s Sunday dinner. It was yummy! Portion was great value. The salted beef and the pease pudding was done just right. My wife had the sea food chowder. We have been traveling around Newfoundland for a week and tried chowders all over the East coast of the rock. When we return to Gander to fly home, we are returning to Rosie’s for chowder. It’s the one that was most robust and full of different types of seafood. Add to that, the amazing flavour and stick to your ribs thickness. Yummy! I hope you can make it to Rosie’s!
This was my favourite place I dined in during my visit to Newfoundland. Food was very tasty and plentiful and the restaurant had mostly locals dining in which created a nice community feeling. We ordered the roast beef dinner and the cod gratin
